The Colby Center for Dance is a free-standing building located at 540 South Maitland Avenue in the City of Maitland's "Cultural Corridor."
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR NEWLY RENOVATED BUILDING! OUR DANCERS ARE ABLE TO TRAIN IN A BEAUTIFUL FACILITY AWAY FROM THE UN-CHILD-FRIENDLY TRAFFIC OF "STRIP SHOPPING CENTERS," YET IN A SAFE, ESTABLISHED, & CLASSY AREA OF THE CITY OF MAITLAND.
The School has a lobby, three dance studios, three restrooms, a reception office, a dance boutique, a study/snack room for the JCD Team Members and a private office for the Studio Director. We also have an 8' x 20' trailer to transport props and costumes, and an off-site storage facility packed to the rafters! Please click on any photo below for an enlarged photo of the inside of our studio.
If you're not familiar with our area, look for the landmarks below which are all more or less across the street from the Colby Center for Dance:
The Maitland Public Library, just north and across from us!
Lake Lily Park with its fountain, walkways, and playground
is just south and across from us.
The Maitland Civic Center is DIRECTLY across Maitland Avenue
from our dance studio.
The Colby Center for Dance is conveniently located at 540 South Maitland Avenue directly across from the Maitland Civic Center and Lake Lily Park. We're just four buildings from the intersection of Maitland Avenue and 17-92.
As you approach the studio, you'll see our sign in front of the building. You can then park in front or in back of the building ... our "back porch" entrance and most of our parking is behind the building!
We've had students from over 50 public and private schools across five counties attend our studio! If you are coming from a distance, generally the easiest route is taking I-4 to the Maitland Boulevard East Exit, proceeding to Maitland Avenue by the Jewish Community Center tennis courts, then turning right on Maitland Avenue and following it until you see the studio on your left. It's normally 7-8 minutes drive time from the I-4 exit to our studio.
